Pieve Tesino (La Piève in Valsuganotto dialect, Tesin in old German) is an Italian municipality of 643 inhabitants in the autonomous province of Trento, in Trentino-Alto Adige. It was the first village in Italy to have a pro loco.

The town is a tourist destination, it was the seat of the valley’s parish church, hence the name, and Alcide De Gasperi was born here on 3 April 1881. Since 29 October 2021, the municipality of Pieve Tesino has been part of the association I borghi più belli d’Italia. To end on a high note!

Last effort of the Cammino Retico, wonderful views again today and a bit of a climb to tackle.

A visit to the Birreria Di Pedavena can’t be missed, with a consequent ‘birretta’ (beer), and having arrived at Croce D’Aune rest before the last km downhill.

You will soon see the village of Aune in the background, surrounded and protected by the majestic rocks of the Vette Feltrine.

Welcome back wayfarers!
